History

How a bit of history? are we sitting comfortable? good, I shall begin...

PBF231R Bedford CF Ice Cream Van with a cummins conversation, affectionately known as Lilly (when she goes wrong, we do call her other names!!) was bought by Tom Horbury, an entranupeur based in Stratford upon Avon, in the summer of 2015, she underwent a huge restoration, totalling some £15,000 (to be fair, its probably more, but i dare not think or tell the wife!!)

But, as soon as i saw her, i understood she was coming home with me (Like the wife!!) i stood infant of this wreck, but i had a vision, a vision to turn this crumbling, old, well worn, disaster of a van and lovingly restore and get her back running and on the road, so over the winter we respired her, we tore out the insides and replaysed and modified, painted and fitted modern comforts. She was fitted with a new gearbox, the engine and electrics were upgraded, solar panels were fitted to recharge the leisure batteries that power the lights, coffee machine and any other electrical appliance we may use.

We were lucky to be in the motor festival in Stratford upon Avon over the Mayday Bank Holiday weekend, and we were spotted by the local paper who ran an article on us, follow the link here and then we waited for the bookings to come flooding in, we didn't have to wait long!!!

I hope to update this page often as i am running searches to find its complete history from 1976, if you know of any, please do get in touch.

She was bought in this condition...

And we turned her into this...
